Happy Wednesday, Buncombe County.
I know the area may feel a little quieter this week with all the snow but weβve seen great support for local businesses and that is what itβs all about! Thereβs still something about a snowy week that makes cozy outings, local shows, and small community moments feel even more appealing.

π North Carolina Stage Company presents Jeeves in Bloom

If winter has been feeling a little too serious lately, this might be exactly the antidote. Jeeves in Bloom opens this week at North Carolina Stage Company, bringing fast paced humor, clever dialogue, and classic British wit to downtown Asheville. The play centers around the endlessly capable valet Jeeves and his well meaning but frequently overwhelmed employer, Bertie Wooster, which means plenty of charm and chaos packed into one evening.
This is a great option for a midweek reset or an easy weekend night out when you want something entertaining and cheeky. You definitely do not need to be a theater expert to enjoy it. The story is humorous and the overall vibe is light and fun. Pair it with dinner nearby and you have a full night planned. In the middle of a cold February week, that kind of effortless plan is a win!

ποΈ Historic Corner: Hominy Creek

Hominy Creek River Park
It may look like a quiet creek today, but Hominy Creek has been shaping this part of Buncombe County for centuries. Flowing through what is now West Asheville and Candler, the creek was once central to Cherokee life, early farming, and later industrial development. Mills, tanneries, and small communities grew along its banks, drawn by reliable water and fertile land. Even now, you can spot hints of that history while walking nearby trails or driving through the area. It is a subtle reminder that many of the places we pass every day have much deeper stories beneath the surface.
